If you are talking very recently, Shawnigan is fairly clear and we're almost at the full moon. I have found that near the full moon, Shawnigan bass feed mostly at night making the mid-day bite brutal. You can catch bass there during the day, but the action is rarely fast.
If you have to fish during the day near the full moon, fish shallow fast, deep slow, and target docks when the sun is high. Or, fish stained lakes like Quennell or Elk/Beaver. Good luck!

Ive been fishing from about 8- 10 at night. Suicidal to go during the day for the most part with how many boats there are. Mostly using the jitterbug and getting a fair bit of fish. Exciting fishing too.. Got one tonight before it got too dark on a booya jig. Probly high 3 pounder. Just wondering if anyone else out there is fishing it with me.

Try using a shade rap or a skitter pop bait in the evening. A prop bait works great and fish it with black or grey baits. Spinnerbaits work great just rip them in and if that doesnt work reel them in fast then just let them fall then reel in really fast this works well use black or char, white works well. You cant go wrong and fish points with a rocky shore line. Weed flats work as well if you know the lake well you will know where they are. Good luck and have fun there are some big fish in there as well too! .gif)

Yeah I bought a spinner bait but wasnt overly sure how to work it. But maybe this should help. Fast is key I suppose. So during the day under docks and stuff whats best to use?

Some people may not want to hear it but a worm rigged wacky style is hard to beat. Use natural colors for your worms or on anything that you use for that matter. I have found that spinnerbaits ripped along docks is a great producer as well.
When the sun is high fish under the docks by skipping a worm or tube underneath. It takes practice but it can definately be worth it. Also try fishing deeper water. Deep running crankbaits, shaky head jigs, jig and pigs, and don't forget the crayfish immitations. That is the main thing that they eat on Shawnigan so do not overlook that one.
I'll probably be up on Shawnigan Sunday night for the full moon, fishing through the night!

I was out on Shawnigan on Thursday and did quite well. I actually did better than I thought that I would have, considering I didn't get my boat in the water until noon! Usually I am there before first light so I wasn't planning on a very good day, but it had been almost a week since I fished and I was going through withdrawals!
Anyways I fished until around 10:00pm and caught fish all day in all of the areas that I hit. Docks, points, mid-lake structures, you name it. I didn't go into the arm, but I rarely do anyways. Too many boats with operators that don't have a clue what they are doing. When the boats are out in full force I usually hug the shoreline or drift the shallows, with a steep drop-off nearby.
Maybe I'll see you out there one day. What are you fishing out of? You can see my boat in my pic to the right...

Nice. Yeah I tried some new spots with good rocky structure in the shade. Did well. Caught a bunch more on one of those markers. Went deeper found some big females!
I got a little green tracker jon boat with a little zuk motor. Im usually down south end around the islands. Look forward to seeing you guys sometime.

I will most likely be out there on Friday and probably on the weekend as well. Glad to hear that you are having more success! Once the sun comes up go deeper and you will find the bigger fish.
I went out on Sunday and had another great day! A few over 4lbs and lots between 2 and 3.
Post a pic of your boat and I will watch for it out there!
